30-week Advanced Training
Sept. 2010 - May 2011
 
This comprehensive program offers a sophisticated educational experience at the cutting edge of current psychodynamic thinking.
Our aim is to provide a concentrated, theory and practice oriented educational experience to mental health professionals who want to
use an interpersonal and object relations perspectives in working
with people who have eating disorders, compulsions, and addictions.

The curriculum combines didactic and clinical seminars, guest lectures, case conferences, individual consultation, and group supervision. The lecture format includes discussion of seminal papers and case material as it relates to eating issues, body image, relationships, regulation, and compulsive and addictive behavior. We pay special attention to group process as a means of understanding the often fluctuating states of mind of both the therapist and eating disordered patient.
 

5 Sessions of 6 consecutive weekly meetings focused on aspects of eating disorders and addictions. Thursdays, 9:00 - 10:30am.
 
Participants can register for one or more sessions in the Series:

Session 3: Eating Disorders II(9 CE credits)

Session 4: Addiction and Compulsions(9 CE credits)
  Substance Abuse, Relationships, Exercise, Internet...
  February 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24

Session 5: Eating Disorders III(9 CE credits)
  Treatment Issues
  April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12
 

Participants who register for the full 30-week program
will be assigned a mentor who will be available for
consultation and support throughout the program.
SUPERVISION
Supervision Group Thursdays, 10:45-12:00pm
$750 per session.

Session 1 (15 weeks)
September 23 - January 20 (no class on November 25, December 23, 30)

Session 2 (15 weeks)
February 3 - May 12
This program is open to mental health professionals who have some background in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and some exposure to working with eating disordered patients.

Tuition fees total $1,800 for the year or $150 per 6-week Lecture Session and $750 per 15-week Supervision session.

NCP awards a total of 45 CE credits (9 credits per session) to psychologists, LCSW's, and MFT's upon completion of the entire Lecture Series program. CE credits not available for Supervision.
